Amazon's announcements yesterday highlight the following:

Features both the tablets have(and the "kids" versions of course)

Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor - Quickly and easily switch between apps, stream movies, and browse the web without waiting for your tablet to catch up.
Durability - As measured in tumble tests, Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 are both more durable than the latest generation iPad.

  1. Wish they'd update the HD 10, or even better, my much beloved HDX. That was the best one ever and it's a real shame they let that product line go. I'd have loved to see it with a 10" screen and expandable memory. The HD 10 is inferior. So sad.

    1. Phantom-Rose, I think that the HDX's used features that were too expensive for the vast majority of tablet buyers. I still use only the HDX 8.9" ... I'm not sure the 10" screen on an HDX would be that much better than the almost 9" one for the added weight and length. Expandable memory would be great, for sure! If only... The HD 10 has nice screen area but lower resolution than the 8.9" ... apparently, the market is just for lower cost models when it comes to Android...

  2. Hi there! Do you happen to know how to turn off private browsing on a kindle fire or how to view private browsing?

    1. Anonymous - Apologies for the very late reply, as I've not been active on the blog. To learn how to select, use, and/or deselect private browsing on a Kindle Fire, see the Help page for that feature.

NOTE: TO AVOID SPAM being posted instantly, this blog uses the blogger.com "DELAY" feature.

Am often away much of the day, and postings won't show up right away. Posts done to use referrer-links may never show up.

Usually, am online enough to release comments within a day though, so the hard-to-read match-text tests for commenting won't be needed this way.

Feedback and questions are welcome. Thanks for participating.

Technical Problems?
If you're having problems leaving a Comment, Google's blogger-help asks that you clear the 'blogger.com' cookies on your browser's Tools or Options menu bar and that will fix the Comment-box problems (until they have a permanent fix).

IF that doesn't work either, then UNcheck the "keep me signed in" box -- Google-help says that should allow your comment to post (it's a workaround to a current bug).
Apologies for the problems.

TIP: There's a size limit. If longer than 3500 characters or so, in a text editor, make two posts out of it.
